One of the great bonuses of being a Christian is the great hope that extends beyond the grave into the glory of God’s tomorrow. A little girl was running toward a cemetery as the darkness of evening began to fall. She passed a friend who asked her if she was not afraid to go through the graveyard at night. “Oh, no,” she said, “I’m not afraid. My home is just on the other side!” We Christians are not afraid of the night of death because our heavenly home is “just on the other side.” The resurrection of Christ changed the midnight of bereavement into a sunrise of reunion; it changed the midnight of disappointment into a sunrise of joy; it changed the midnight of fear to a sunrise of peace. Today faith and confidence in the resurrected Christ can change your fear to hope and your disappointment to joy.

Whatever I fear the most, Lord Jesus, I put into Your loving hands, knowing You will give me peace and courage. Amen

It is not unusual for persons in their early twenties to defect from their early teaching. The reasons are many. Perhaps their exposure to unbelief “took” better than their exposure to belief. This is often the case, for the Bible says, “The heart of man is deceitful above all things.”

The human heart is as prepared by sin to accept unbelief as faith. Some person they regard highly has undoubtedly influenced their thinking; and for the time being they look on their early training as “bunk.” As someone has said, “A little learning may take a man away from God, but full understanding will bring him back.”

Some of the staunchest Christians I know are people who had periods in their life when they questioned the Bible, Christ, and God. But as they continued to examine the matter, there was overwhelming evidence that only “the fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”

I pray for all the questioning people today, Lord, remembering times in my own life when unbelief reigned. Amen

I’ll be having a concealed carry class this weekend at Prentiss Police classroom on the bypass. Starts at 8:00AM. Most comprehensive class. USCCA format on concealed carry, laws, defense, and safety. You even learn proper procedures if you get in an incident and police arrive. Give me a call if you want to come at 601-862-7412. Learn the safe and secure way. Learn how to avoid confrontation as well.

I will be having a class January 7, 2017. It will be the USCCA class. It really is the best at conceal carry, home defense, and the laws you need to understand. Anyone that would like to get a carry permit, call me at 601-862-7412. I will be happy to see you there.

Hope the class tomorrow is full and ready to learn. I mowed the range today and the classroom is ready. When you pull into the Police Station, pull through the remote gate to your left. It will be open for you and park next to my truck a dark blue Dodge Ram. The classroom is in the back of the Station. Have your firearm in your vehicle but you do not need it in the classroom. I have enough for show & tell. Have a sports chair and even a tent cover if you want. Some will sit while others shoot. Come ready to learn safety as top priority. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Enhanced Concealed Carry Class this Saturday August 6. Starts at 8:00 AM. Bring your firearm, 50 rounds of ammo, ear plugs, & safety glasses for the shooting range. Try to arrive by 0745 to sign in. It will be at the Prentiss Police Station in the classroom. Shooting in the afternoon. Looking forward to this class. Bring a chair and a tent if you want. I expect it to be warm. Enhanced permit requirement is for 8 hours. Be ready learn a lot more than you can think you will.
