Most people never think about us… until the worst day of their life arrives.

Behind every investigation, every difficult notification, every unidentified person, and every unanswered question, there are highly trained professionals quietly doing the work that protects truth, dignity, and public safety after death.

That’s who we are.

Coroners, medical examiners, forensic pathologists, and medicolegal death investigators don’t just “handle bodies.”

We identify the deceased.

We answer the hardest questions families will ever ask.

We protect communities through truth, science, and accountability.

We carry the stories of those who can no longer speak for themselves.

But here’s the reality the public rarely sees:

Our profession is essential… and yet often underfunded, misunderstood, and overlooked.

Standards aren’t just “policies.” They mean safer communities, stronger investigations, better family support, and fewer people falling through the cracks.

They mean mental health support for investigators, standardized training, and consistent expectations nationwide so every family - no matter where they live - receives the same level of care, compassion, and professional excellence.

Public awareness matters.

Public support matters.

Your voice matters.

When the community stands behind us, leaders listen. Funding improves. Training expands. Mental health resources become available. Lives are impacted.

If you believe dignity shouldn’t end at death…

If you believe families deserve answers…

If you believe truth, professionalism, and compassion should be the standard everywhere…

Stand with the people who stand in the hardest places.

Together, we can change this profession for the better - because the “Last Responders” should never be the last ones thought of.

Yesterday, a little green grasshopper landed on my car window and just…stayed there. No hurry. No panic. Just presence. 🦗💚

I took it as a nudge from God and the universe: sometimes life asks us to pause long enough to notice the small messengers. Green speaks of growth, healing, and new beginnings. The grasshopper is all about leaps—faith over fear, forward motion over second-guessing. Even when the path isn’t fully clear, we’re guided to jump anyway.

Here’s what it whispered to me:

Keep your heart open—growth is happening even when it’s quiet.

Trust your timing—stillness can be sacred preparation.

When it’s time to move, leap with courage and don’t look back.

Maybe it was “just” a bug. Or maybe it was a reminder that there are no coincidences when we’re paying attention. Today I’m choosing to honor the little signs, to listen deeper, and to step forward with faith.

If you’ve been waiting on a sign—consider this your green light. 💚✨
What small thing showed up for you this week that carried a bigger message?
