Located in scenic Prescott, Arizona, the sanctuary provides a source of recreation, education and entertainment for all ages. With the mission of "Conservation through Education," Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary provides a unique and up-close experience with animals that visitors may not see anywhere else. Animals at Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary all have a story to tell and a lesson to te

ach. Most are incapacitated and rescued from the wild or from inappropriate captive situations. At the sanctuary, the animals are respectfully displayed in natural habitats intended to educate the public on a variety of topics. Additional educational services are provided to Northern Arizona such as outreaches and guided tours of the facilities. Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary is open 365 days a year! Summer Hours

Meet one of the newest residents residing behind the scenes! Red-crowned Amazon Parrots are found in urban and suburban areas in the US. In 2019, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it considers the Red-crowned Amazon native to Texas as well as Mexico. These birds have been clocked flying as fast as 27 miles per hour!

Today is Clouded Leopard Day! We have the honor of housing 2 Clouded Leopards, Malee and Suree. Did you know? Their long canines are the largest of all living cats relative to head size! Their teeth match those of a tiger's while being 10 times smaller!
