National Police Week is a time to recognize and thank the men and women who serve and protect our communities each and every day.

The Prescott Fire Department is proud to work alongside our law enforcement partners through long days, difficult calls, emergencies, and community events alike. Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to serve do not go unnoticed.

This week, we especially remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and honor all those who continue to wear the badge today.

Thank you to the members of the Prescott Wisconsin Police Department and Pierce County, WI Sheriff's Office for your service, sacrifice, and dedication to the communities you protect.

Dry spring conditions continue to create an elevated risk for grass fires across western Wisconsin. While conditions are expected to improve some over the weekend with higher humidity, lighter winds, and chances for scattered rain, dry grasses can still ignite and spread quickly — even from small controlled burns.

Before burning:
• Check current burn conditions and local restrictions
• Avoid burning on windy days
• Keep water or a hose nearby
• Never leave a fire unattended
• When in doubt, wait for safer conditions

Many grass fires start from burns that were intended to stay controlled. A little extra caution can go a long way in protecting homes, property, fields, and neighboring communities.

Check Wisconsin burn conditions anytime using:

• Burn Hotline: 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-2876)

Great pizza tastes even better when it gives back.

Today is International Firefighters’ Day. A good reminder that when something goes wrong, there are people in this community who don’t hesitate. They just show up.

We’re proud to serve the Prescott area and even more grateful to be part of a community that always has our back.

Governor Tony Evers has ordered flags across Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on Sunday, May 3 in honor of firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty. It’s part of this National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

You’ll likely notice the flags around town tomorrow. A simple gesture, but it carries a lot behind it.

From Prescott to departments across the country, we remember.

What a night. What a community. ❤️🚒

A week later and we’re still smiling thinking about Spring Fling.

From the chicken dinners to bingo, raffles, games, bags, cold drinks, and live music… it was one of those nights where everything just clicked. And it only happens because of this community.

To everyone who came out, donated, sponsored, played, laughed, and supported your volunteer fire department— thank you. Seriously.

We’re proud to be part of a community that shows up like this.

It’s National Volunteer Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the people behind the Prescott Fire Department.

This is a team made up of neighbors, family, coworkers, and friends who step away from their lives when the pager goes off, no matter the time or the call.

They train hard, trust each other, and take care of one another through it all.

Some calls are tough. The kind you carry with you. But this group shows up for each other just as much as they do for this community.

We’re proud of this team of volunteers, and we’re grateful for the sacrifices they make to serve and protect Prescott.
