Hey Yavapai, it's week 2 of Emergency Management Awareness month. Let's talk about plans!

Before an emergency ever happens, planning is being done. Emergency Management works year-round with first responders, local governments, other emergency managers, school, utilities, healthcare partners, nonprofits, and others to develop and update plans that help guide pour response when emergencies occur.

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* Until 300 PM MST.

* At 226 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of
Tailhoit Mesa, or 12 miles west of Chino Valley, moving southeast
at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected.

* Locations impacted include...
Prescott, Chino Valley, Williamson Valley, Paulden, Wildwood
Estates, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott Regional
Airport, Willow Creek Reservoir, Whipple and Granite Mountain
Wilderness.

This includes State Route 89 between mile markers 320 and 338.

This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds...
Yavapai Campground, Yavapai Campground and Cayuse Picnic Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing large hail.
