Why Choose La Tierra?

Because relationships matter.

As a small K–8 community, our students are known, supported, and encouraged to grow. We strive to create an environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and connected.

It’s one of the things families tell us they love most about La Tierra.

Why Choose La Tierra?

We believe education is about more than just academics.

At La Tierra, students are encouraged to take risks, solve problems, work through challenges, and discover who they are. We celebrate growth not just in what students know, but in who they become.

Because confidence, resilience, and curiosity matter too.

Why Choose La Tierra?

At La Tierra, students don’t just learn information, they apply it.

Our expeditionary learning model encourages students to investigate real-world topics, ask meaningful questions, collaborate with others, and create work they are proud to share.

Learning by doing isn’t an activity here, it’s part of who we are.

Why Choose La Tierra?

Because some lessons are best learned by experiencing them.

Through learning expeditions, fieldwork, and hands-on projects, our students connect classroom learning to the world around them. We believe curiosity, exploration, and discovery are essential parts of education.

Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door.

You’ve probably noticed our new logo!

While it may look different, it was thoughtfully designed to reflect who we are as a school and the values that guide us. The compass shape represents learning, exploration, and the journey each student takes during their time at La Tierra. 🧭The sun symbolizes growth and the bright future ahead of our students.☀️

You may also notice the bird-inspired tail, which pays tribute to the symbolism that has long been part of our school community. 🪶

Together, these elements represent discovery, wisdom, renewal, and the connection between where we’ve been and where we’re going.

We are excited to carry this new symbol forward as we continue to grow as a community.

One of the traditions we look forward to every year, 8th Grade Speeches. 🎓

These speeches gave our students a chance to reflect on their time at La Tierra, share memories, thank the people who supported them, and look ahead to what comes next. There were plenty of laughs, a few tears, and lots of moments we’ll remember.

We’re proud of the confidence, growth, and thoughtfulness this class brought to the stage.

Field day recap: water games and battles, lots of laughter, random dance parties, and all the end-of-year fun 💦🎶

A solid way to wrap things up before summer! ☀️

🎓 Just like that… our 8th graders are officially freshmen!

It’s bittersweet watching this group move on, but we know they’re headed toward incredible things. This class was full of curiosity, resilience, humor, leadership, and students willing to push themselves outside of their comfort zones. We’ve watched them grow so much, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for each of them.

Once a La Tierra student, always a La Tierra student 💛 Congrats, Class of 2026!

Kindergarten took their learning outdoors at Lynx Lake 🌲

Using nature as their playground, students explored different kinds of forces through hands-on activities and games including an epic tug-of-war where the kindergarten class beat their teachers! 💪😂
