The Prescott Frontier Rotary Charitable Fund recently presented a check for $400 to Cheri Hull, representing the League of Extraordinary Grandparents (LEGS).

The mission of this local nonprofit is to address the unmet need for grandparents among at-risk children, those in shelters, children raised by grandparents or single parents and children under stress.

“We accept them for who they are and love them because they came in the door,” explained Cheri. Program activities focus on simple creative activities such as playing games, crafting and cooking.

Congratulations and thank you to Linda Sweeney for a successful year as President, and welcome to Donna Jacobs, incoming President for the 2026-27 Rotary year. The two were recently celebrated by their fellow Rotarians at a party at The Club at Prescott Lakes, and shared highlights of the past year and goals for the year ahead.

Linda was ceremoniously demoted and “graduated,” complete with a cap and gown, high honors and an oversized diploma, playing off her years as an educator and her weekly “Rotary 101” lessons. Her board also presented a basket of apples for the teacher, in appreciation for her leadership.

Among the attendees at the event was Joe Sweeney, District Governor for Rotary District 5495 - Northern Arizona, who inducted Donna and her incoming board of directors, and presented her with a giant, personalized top hat!

A great time was had by all and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in the community.
