Northland Cares provides a full range of outpatient services for people living with HIV/AIDS in northern Arizona.

Northland Cares is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through care and education in the communities we serve. Our medical providers, David Keckich and Ngozi Osondu, offer expert outpatient medical care in the Prescott office as well as at our off-site clinic in Cottonwood/Verde Valley. Northland Cares, a 501c3 non-profit organization, is the only AIDS Service Organization specifically founded to meet the specialized needs of those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS in Northern Arizona.

Today, July 21, Northland Cares recognizes Zero HIV Stigma Day.

HIV stigma includes negative attitudes, harmful judgments, and discrimination toward people living with or at risk of HIV. Stigma can prevent people from getting tested, seeking treatment, accessing prevention services, or talking openly about their health.

We can all help end HIV stigma by educating ourselves, challenging misinformation, using respectful language, and treating every person with dignity and compassion.

People living with HIV deserve support—not judgment. With effective treatment, people with HIV can achieve an undetectable viral load and cannot sexually transmit HIV: Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U).

Let’s work together to build a community where everyone feels safe accessing HIV testing, prevention, treatment, and care.

Today, June 8, we recognize Caribbean American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day — a day to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care within Caribbean American communities.

HIV can affect anyone, but access to education, testing, and compassionate healthcare makes a life-changing difference. Knowing your status is an important step in protecting your health and the health of your community.

Northland Cares is here to provide confidential HIV testing, prevention resources, PrEP/PEP education, Hepatitis C support, STI services, and ongoing care for people living with HIV.

This awareness day is also a reminder that culture, community, and connection are powerful tools in ending stigma and improving health outcomes.

Today is dedicated to raising awareness of Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C and encouraging individuals to learn their status.

Hepatitis often shows little to no symptoms, which means many people may not know they are living with it. Early testing can lead to treatment, improved health outcomes, and prevention of transmission.

Today, Northland Cares will be out in the community at A Safe Place in Prescott Valley and Granite Mountain Behavioral Healthcare, helping raise awareness and connect individuals with testing, education, and support.

Today we recognize the researchers, volunteers, and communities working toward a future without HIV.

While there is still no HIV vaccine, progress is being made every day through clinical trials and scientific research. HIV Vaccine Awareness Day is a time to honor those efforts and raise awareness about the importance of prevention and education.

At Northland Cares, we are committed to providing testing, prevention tools like PEP/PrEP, and compassionate care for our community. With over 98% of our clients achieving undetectable viral loads, we know that treatment works and helps prevent transmission.
