If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is a scam! You might be offered “free” products like back or knee braces, food, or additional benefits for your Medicare number. That’s a scam.

If you find something concerning on a Medicare Summary Notice or accidentally gave out your Medicare information, report it! Don't hide it and don't be ashamed. Scammers are just really good at what they do. Report suspected Medicare fraud to the SMP at 1-877-808-2468.

Thursday, June 4th, 1:00 - 3:00 pm, Coffee & Company, in-person in Presque Isle: enjoy connection with peers and help shape future activities, experiences, and opportunities based on the ideas and interests of the group.

Thursday, June 4th, 3:00 - 4:00 pm, Care Partner Support Group, in-person in Presque Isle or virtual: share experiences, connect with others, and find support from people on a similar journey. This event requires pre-registration.

Lunchtime meals are available weekly for adults 60+ who do not receive home-delivered meals and want to enjoy food, friends, and occasional programs. No fee; donations encouraged. This week is Medicare Fraud Prevention Week! The week everyone can learn about protecting yourself, your friends, and your loved ones from scammers.

Throughout the week, we will share a few tips on how you can protect yourself and your loved ones from Medicare scams. Visit the SMP page for tips too! SMP National Resource Center

Students Celebrate Older Americans Month!

We’re so happy to share this wonderful project! Fourth grade students at Zippel Elementary School in Presque Isle took time to make thoughtful, heartfelt, and sometimes funny cards celebrating older adults in our community.

Our Home Care Services team will be delivering these cards over the next couple of weeks to clients. We know these small notes will go a long way in brightening someone’s day.

A big thank you to the students and teachers at Zippel Elementary for helping connect generations in such a simple and meaningful way.

Today at the Agency, there have been a few tears shed as we say “see you again soon” to Mackenzie Berube, our amazing Staff Accountant.

For the past six years, Mackenzie has brought dedication and positivity to our Agency every day. We will miss her knowledge, can-do spirit, and willingness to jump in wherever needed. Most of all, we will miss her kindness, smile, and laughter.

We were so honored today to welcome two amazing ladies who truly embody what it means to “Age with Attitude!” Laura and Joella stopped by to visit our "Age with Attitude" photo exhibit to see the photos they submitted and enjoy the creativity, energy, and inspiration shared by others who are embracing healthy, active aging. These ladies are truly inspiring!

To make the day even more special, Joella’s son and daughter-in-law stopped by the exhibit to surprise her.

A special thank you to Jamie and Susan for bringing Laura and Joella to visit us and treating them to a fun day out together. Thank you all for being part of this special celebration!

Join us this June for two free wellness programs designed to support caregivers and healthy aging!

SAVVY Caregiver® Classes help family caregivers build confidence, learn practical dementia care strategies, and connect with others. Mondays, June 1–July 6, 1:00–3:00 pm.

Chair Yoga with Jenna Norton offers gentle, low-impact movement to improve strength, balance, mobility, and relaxation. Tuesdays, June 2–July 21, 10:00–11:00 am.

Both programs are free and offered in-person in Presque Isle or through participating Access Point sites. Pre-registration is required!

Older Americans Month has been a busy one at the Agency!

May has been full of opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate—and we aren't done yet! From special presentations and informative workshops to our annual Hot Dog Roasts, we've been having a great time bringing people together across the community.
