Dear Parents and Guardians of FCHS Students,

I am excited to announce that on Tuesday, May 6th, our students will be rewarded with a special one-hour off-campus lunch in recognition of their outstanding performance on the ISAT assessments.

At the beginning of the year, we set a challenging goal for our students, and through their hard work and dedication, they were able to achieve it. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and believe this celebration is well deserved.

Lunch will take place from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM on May 6th.

Please note that the school's tardy and absence policies will remain in effect for this event. Students who return late or fail to return from lunch will be subject to the standard school policies.

If, for any reason, you prefer that your student not leave campus during this time, please contact the school office, and we will gladly make accommodations to ensure they remain on site.

Please join us in congratulating our students for their hard work and exceptional achievement!

Sincerely,
Dr. Brady Garner
FCHS Principal

School at FCHS will be canceled tomorrow, Thursday, December 5, while the furnace is being repaired.

Dear Parent/Guardian-

The fire alarm went off at Franklin County High School earlier this morning. Per district safety protocol, students were immediately evacuated and put on a bus so they could stay warm while the district maintenance team and the fire department looked into the cause of the alarm.

The sensor indicated elevated carbon monoxide in the building. The school nurse then checked vital signs and assessed for symptoms of each student using a finger monitor as well as observing for symptoms. Parents were notified if their child showed any medical concerns. Please watch for worsening headaches, nausea, difficulty breathing in your child. If your child reports these, please go the emergency room immediately. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse at (208) 851-9953.

The maintenance team determined it would take a few hours to repair the furnace to ensure students and staff are safe. As such, administration decided it best to cancel school at FCHS for the remainder of the day. Students will be sent home effective immediately. Lunch was not served.

The plan right now is for students to attend a regular day of school tomorrow, unless notified otherwise.

Thank you,
Principal Garner

I have seen many questions about how many school days students will attend next year, and I am writing to address them. Thanks to the passing of HB 766, Preston School District will not be transitioning to a 5-day week. At last month’s school board meeting, a new calendar was approved for the 2024-25 school year, with students attending school 4 days a week. We appreciate your continued support!

Sincerely,
Brady Garner
Assistant Superintendent
Preston School District #201
