Starting today, much of South and Central Georgia are under a burn ban as we continue to respond to wildfires and deal with ongoing drought conditions.

We're asking all Georgians to do your part in preventing the spread of wildfires as response teams work around the clock to contain those currently blazing.

Macedonia Church Rd is planned to be CLOSED today 4/8 through Friday 4/10 due to power line construction. It will be closed from Highway 41 to Poplar Springs Rd. There will be no thru traffic allowed during the construction crews working hours. There will be a Code Red message sent out shortly after this is posted.

Today, March 24th 2026 from
10:00AM to 12:00 Noon, Macedonia Church Road will be closed from Highway 41 to Poplar Springs Road. There will be no thru traffic allowed during this time, the road will be completely closed

OVERVIEW:
Clouds cleared out quickly this afternoon (Sunday) behind the rain and snow, allowing for temperatures to warm into the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Temperatures will fall quickly this evening and stay below freezing until around 10 AM Monday.

IMPACTS:
While the afternoon warm-up (and breezy conditions) has melted/dried a lot of moisture on the roads, patchy slick spots will be possible across the general area that received rain and snow earlier today.
Shaded/sheltered areas, bridges, and overpasses may be especially prone to black ice tonight into Monday morning.
