📢 WEBSTER COUNTY TOWN HALL MEETING

The Unified Government of Webster County invites the public to attend a Town Hall Meeting to discuss important community topics, including the county website, ordinances, data centers, land use, and the organizing of a planning committee.

📅 Thursday, November 5, 2026 🕕 6:00 PM 📍 Community Center 40 Cemetery Road, Preston, GA

This meeting is open to the public. We encourage everyone to attend, share their thoughts, and be part of the conversation about our community's future.

This Saturday Oct 24 we welcome The Page Brothers to the stage to give us some some fine music from 7-10 pm!
Please come out and have some fun! There will be bounce houses and a few other things for the kids.
The Fire Dept will be cooking burgers for supper.

Drinking is allowed but no alcohol will be sold. Please put it in a cup of at all possible.

Anyway, let's all have some fun!

Confidence is increasing in significant rainfall through at least Sunday morning. Narrow bands of training heavy rain/thunderstorms could result in sharp rainfall gradients from as little as 1-2" to as much as 5-8" over just a few miles.

On Highway 41, South of Preston around the DOT barn and Kinchafoonee creek area there is a LARGE pile of wood chips that is slowly burning. We have already assessed the fire and have taken all steps necessary to ensure it will not cause harm to anything. However, it will continue to burn at MINIMUM the next 7-10 days. It will at times cause heavy smoke in the area around the creek. This includes Hwy 41. DOT has been advised to place warning signs in the area until the issue is cleared.

Today
On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we will sound the tornado sirens in honor of all those that lost their lives in the attacks. This will take place at 9:11 am as long as it is not raining.
