Firefighters responded to Highway 36 mile marker 16 on a vehicle fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. Traffic was shutdown for approximately 30 minutes. There were no injuries.

Having a station in Franklin has reduced response times on the south end and will result in reduced insurance premiums for many residents.

Agricultural burns require a permit from the DEQ which can be obtained on our website as well.

The Franklin County Fire District would like to congratulate Mandy Beutler, Kirby Chatterton, Nick Myers, Tyler Browning, and Tanner Beutler, (not pictured) for successfully completing their probationary period. We would also like to thank their spouses for their support.

Congratulations to Colton Matthews for receiving the firefighter of the year award at this years awards banquet.
Colton has demonstrated a desire to serve his community, he has a strong desire to learn and apply his skills in the field.
We would also like to thank Colton’s wife, Rachel, for supporting him in what he loves to do.

After many delays, Station 3 is nearing completion. Firefighters continue to train, and equipment is ready to be moved into its new home.
Electrical and data work needs to be completed on the interior and landscaping is currently in the design stages.
In the coming weeks we will move equipment into the building and an announcement will be made on the date of the open house for anyone who would like to see the newest station in Franklin County.
From now until the open house, responses from the Franklin Station will be very limited. As always, crews will continue to respond out of the main station in Preston. Station 3 serves as a satellite station to reduce response times to the south end of the county.
We ask for your patience as we bring station 3 up to speed.
We look forward to adding this much needed service.
