On Monday, February 23, 2026, Adan Panzo entered a plea of guilty to two counts of malice murder for the 2024 murder of one-year-old and three-year-old siblings by arson in Webster County. Chief Judge Smith sentenced the defendant to two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. This case was prosecuted by DA Lewis R. Lamb with the assistance of DA Investigator Stephen Douglas, Victim Advocate LeeAnn Turner. The case was investigated by Lieutenant Daniel Weeks of the Webster County Sheriff's Office and Region 3 office of the GBI.

On behalf of the Webster County Sheriff's Office, we extend our sincere gratitude to those who worked diligently to bring this case to justice from the first responders to the investigators and prosecutors. We were honored to spend time with some of our youngest community members during Community Helpers Day at the school! Sheriff Randy Dely, Colonel Will Rodgers, and Deputy Austin Blankenship enjoyed visiting with PreK and kindergarten students to share everything law enforcement officers do to help keep our community safe.

They talked with the students about the importance of gun safety and answered lots of thoughtful questions from the students. One of the highlights of the day was giving the students a chance to see the patrol cars up close!

We are grateful for opportunities like this to build positive relationships and help our children feel safe, confident, and connected to those who serve and protect them. Thank you to the school for welcoming us! Our future is bright with these wonderful young citizens!

We had such a great time at Webster County’s Career Day! It is always an honor to connect with the next generation and share a little about what we do to serve and protect our community.

Deputy Austin Blankenship truly enjoyed visiting with our young community members, answering their thoughtful questions, and hearing about their big dreams for the future. Their curiosity, kindness, and excitement made the day extra special!

We are grateful for opportunities like this to build positive relationships and be a friendly, familiar face for our youth. Thank you again for welcoming us! We look forward to the next visit!
