Many people immediately form images in their minds of working long hours in small garden plots filled with vegetables ready for canning. Some would recall taking fresh picked apples to market on a crisp September morning. Others may think of the old hayloft where the many bales of hay were “put up” during the hot summer months in preparation for the long winter ahead.
