City of Pretty Prairie

City of Pretty Prairie Located in Reno County in south central Kansas, we are a town of about 650 people. City Council meeting are held the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

at the City Office unless otherwise noted.

We have squash bugs in the garden! So today we sprinkled wood ash over the plants that we see the bugs and eggs on as an organic way to try to kill them. It is safe to touch and wash off of the produce. We just wanted to make you aware. We have also seen alot of bees pollinating the flowers! We still have produce in the City Office/Library to give away. And we are seeing honeydew, cantaloupe, decorative gourds, and watermelon growing in the planters. Don't forget to grab some herbs if you need them. There is plenty of basil, lemon balm, peppermint, rosemary, dill, oregano and cilantro to spice up your meals!
