I am happy to be a part of the 2026 Hutchinson Community Foundation's Transformational Leadership Cohort! Our focus is on the revitalization of Reno County Downtowns. I hope to learn alot about adaptive solutions to challenges.

It's hard to believe that this journey began more than 3 years ago! From discussion, to planning, to purchasing and remodeling, to training, to enrolling, and now to transitioning! The Pretty Prairie Community Daycare will close officially on Wednesday, May 13th under the management of the City of Pretty Prairie. Plans are underway for new management to take over in the fall. We would like to say THANK YOU!!! to everyone who helped make this endeavor happen!

This is a reminder to not disturb City Maintenance staff while they are working on water repairs. They are trying diligently to make repairs as quickly as possible so residents are not without water longer than necessary.

Plants are officially in the ground! Not all of them, of course, but we still consider it a win! Hoping it doesn't freeze tonight, and thankful for the rain we have gotten this week. If anyone was considering donating plants or seeds, now is the time to let us know!

The progress continues at the Community Garden! We want to recognize the Fund For Reno County for awarding us the $2,500 grant towards our project!

UPDATE: We have straw donated now.
Does anyone have any cinder blocks they would be willing to donate to the Community Garden? We don't need a bunch, just 5-10. We also are looking for donated straw if anyone has any for our potato planters.
