Big things are happening at Primghar Ambulance. The service is now a conditional Paramedic service. Meaning we can do ALS transports/ Transfers. We can also do ALS intercepts/ assists.

We are located in the middle of O'Brien County, so we are less than 15 minutes from most of the other communities in the county. And in True emergencies, minutes and seconds count.

We are also looking for RN's who want to be able to practice to the full scope of their license to join our team as Nurse exemptions.

The heat is going to be a big change this week. It will not take too long to lose water when outside. If you are working outside for any activities, please make sure you stay hydrated. Water is best, sports drinks are 2nd. preferably mixed half and half with water to cut some of the sugar. Caffeinated drinks and alcohol should be avoided.

Here is an example: a healthy person drinks 2 Liters of water per day on an average day. On a hot/humid day, that same person would need to drink 2 times that amount to stay hydrated.

🔥 HEAT ADVISORY ISSUED FOR MUCH OF IOWA TUESDAY 🔥

The first significant heat event of the season is expected across Iowa on Tuesday, and a Heat Advisory has been issued for much of central, western, and southwest Iowa from 1 PM to 9 PM.

Afternoon temperatures will climb into the lower to middle 90s, but high humidity will make it feel even hotter. Heat index values between 100° and 105° are expected across many areas, with a few locations potentially reaching 107°.
