September is both National Recovery Month and Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.

Recovery from mental health and substance use challenges is possible, and support is available for those struggling.

CAASA encourages community members to learn the warning signs of su***de, check in on loved ones and friends, and share resources whenever possible. It can be as simple as sharing a list of agencies to reach out to, a website or a phone number.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. You're not alone. Whether you're facing mental health struggles, substance misuse concerns, emotional challenges or just need someone to talk with, CALL OR TEXT 988 for support.

To learn more about the warning signs of su***de visit https://www.samhsa.gov/mental-health/suicidal-behavior/warning-signs

Please join us this evening at this year's International Overdose Awareness Day Prayer Vigil at Kellam Field, Chesapeake Beach.

While in the area, we encourage you to stop by the Sunrise Garden in North Beach to engage with the "Big Hug" and "Big Chair" sculptures previously dedicated to those lost to overdose and to support those in recovery and their families. It's a wonderful tribute and opportunity to remember and reflect.
