☝️👀️ Things are looking up at the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center!

Renovation work continues throughout the natatorium. The roof above the leisure pool has been completely replaced, the competition pool roof is nearly complete and the panels above the therapy pool are next in line for replacement.

Crews are also installing lighting and completing detailed ductwork throughout the facility.

As a reminder, the aquatic center remains closed during renovations, with reopening planned for November 2026. In the meantime, residents can enjoy outdoor swimming at Cove Point Pool and Kings Landing Pool.

Learn more about the project and closure timeline at www.calvertcountymd.gov/AquaticCenterClosure.

Please be advised that Kings Landing Pool is closed for the remainder of the day due to thunderstorms in the area.

Guard of the Month!

Each month, the Aquatics Division recognizes an outstanding lifeguard as Guard of the Month, honoring their dedication, hard work and commitment to keeping our community safe.
As part of this recognition, the selected lifeguard receives our famous "Silly Tube" — a fun and unique flotation device they carry while on duty. Keep an eye out 👀 for its one-of-a-kind appearance on deck as we celebrate team members who go above and beyond.

👏Congratulations to Stephen Jones, our August Guard of the Month! Stephen joined the aquatics in the summer of 2023 and has consistently shown a strong work ethic, and dedication to patron safety. Outside of work he is pursuing his associates in biology at CSM while also playing for their soccer team. Stephen enjoys working alongside his team to clean and keep the facility safe.

Stay tuned for next month's Guard of the Month announcement. Keep an eye out for its one-of-a-kind appearance on deck as we celebrate the team members who go above and beyond to help keep our community safe.🏅
