Calvert County Family Network supports Healthy Families Accreditation efforts.

The Calvert County Family Network (CCFN) recently partnered with Calvert County Public Schools' Healthy Families team to participate in site visits as part of the program’s accreditation process. The CCFN supports the program through funding provided by the Maryland State Department of Education.
Healthy Families America is a nationally recognized, evidence-based home visiting program that supports expectant parents and families with young children. The program focuses on strengthening parent-child relationships, promoting positive child development and connecting families to critical health and community resources. Services are voluntary and designed to provide early, prevention-focused support that improves long-term outcomes for children and families.

🏠 The PIT Count Matters in Calvert County
The annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count helps our community understand how many individuals and families are experiencing homelessness. This count directly affects the funding, housing, and support services Calvert County receives. When people aren’t counted, resources are lost.

👉 Call to Action: If you know someone who is staying in a shelter, motel, car, doubled-up with others, or experiencing housing instability, please help spread the word and encourage participation in the PIT Count. Sharing this information helps connect people to resources and strengthens support for our community.

💙 Together, we can ensure everyone is seen, counted, and supported.

Why the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count Matters

The annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a critical effort to understand the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Calvert County. This data directly impacts how much state and federal funding, housing resources, and support services our community receives. When people are undercounted, resources are limited. Spreading the word helps ensure everyone, especially those staying doubled-up, in motels, vehicles, or other temporary situations, is counted and connected to support. An accurate PIT Count strengthens our ability to advocate, plan, and respond with the services our neighbors need.

Please share!
