Youth Appreciation Night tonight a PGHS Varsity Football Game for all currently registered Prince George Parks & Recreation Football Players & Cheerleaders.

Football players should wear football jerseys, and cheerleaders should wear their cheer uniforms at meet at bus garage gate promptly at 6 PM.

Prince George Parks and Recreation is proud to partner with US Fish and Wildlife Services to offer programming at the James River National Wildlife Refuge (4550 Flowerdew Hundred Rd., N. Prince George, VA 23860). Reserve your spot to paddle the tranquil waters along James River National Wildlife Refuge from 9 AM until 12 PM on either Saturday, September 26, 2026, or Saturday, October 10, 2026.

This is a self-guided journey along Powell Creek. Enjoy the journey through this wild and historically rich part of Prince George County. Canoeing/kayaking experience recommended.

Participants must be over 12 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age must participate with a parent or legal guardian. This FREE event is sponsored by the US Fish and Wildlife Services and Prince George County Parks and Recreation Department. You may choose to bring your own canoe/kayak, or reserve one from US Fish and Wildlife Services. Each date is limited to a total of 16 participants.

Prince George Youth Wrestling Association (PGYWA) will be offering FREE Open Mat Wrestling for youth aged 6 – 14 each Wednesday, through October 28, 2026, from 6 PM – 7:45 PM at Central Wellness Center Wrestling Room (11023 Prince George Dr., Disputanta, VA 23842). This is an excellent opportunity to explore the wrestling program to determine if your child would be interested in participating prior to Wrestling registration, (which will be held September 7 – October 30, 2026).
