The Somerset County Economic Development Commission's goal is to increase the economic viability and vitality of the County's business community by creating a positive vision for economic growth. This will be accomplished by attracting new businesses to the county through a dynamic marketing program with business incentives, assisting those businesses already in Somerset County to grow and expand

through the various financing programs and workforce development initiatives that are available through the state and local resources, and by encouraging the growth of tourism related activities that will take advantage of the County's water and land terrain natural features.

Please come on out and help us congratulate Somerset County’s First Licensed Dispensary “Happi Daze” during their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony scheduled on Friday, June 5th @ 11:00 a.m. They are located in the former Peaky’s Restaurant on Mt. Vernon Road in Princess Anne.

Had the honor to host Maryland Department of Commerce Secretary Harry Coker on a tour of Somerset County! The morning portion of the day we spent in Crisfield visiting Janes Island State Park, Metompkin Bay, Sherwin Williams, Smith Island briefing, Wards Brothers Workshop, and several murals around town. The afternoon portion of the tour was spent in Princess Anne. A Business Roundtable luncheon was hosted by UMES, followed by a tour of Kratos (new aerospace company located in the Princess Anne Industrial Park) concluding the tour was Ishan Farms. We certainly appreciate everyone taking the time to attend and for the University’s hospitality!

The Somerset County EDC hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, July 18th for Next Chapter Behavorial Health. They have two locations; the Somerset County location is in the Princess Anne Village Shopping Center and the other one is in Salisbury. Congratulations to Dr. Gail Lankford and her team! ✂️🎉🎊👏🏻
