PEPB has sent a line crew to assist West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative with system restoration, after strong storms rolled thru their service territory last night. As of 7:00 a.m. today, WKRECC was facing 231 separate outages, leaving roughly 14,050 members without power. Seth Wyatt, Cory Jordan, and Mitchell Green, be safe! Summer Subsidy Program is OPEN!📢📢

Kentucky households can apply for LIHEAP Summer Subsidy from August 3 - September 11, 2026, to help offset cooling costs with a one-time electric benefit. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, or until funds are depleted.

Interested households should contact their local Community Action Agency, based on county of residence, to determine eligibility and complete the application process. To locate the office serving your county, visit www.capky.org/network or call 800-456-3452.

Households must meet eligibility requirements, including household income of up to and including 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines to qualify for assistance. Benefits are paid directly to the household’s electric vendor.

No disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice is required to apply. Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility.

The storm that rolled thru our service territory this evening has caused some scattered power outages. Caldwell County Emergency Management mans our phone lines after hours. At this time, their phones are out. If you are experiencing a power outage, please call 270-365-4658. If you cannot get thru on that line, call 911 and report your outage. PLEASE, only call 911 if you can’t get thru any other way. Our crews will be dispatched to your location as soon as possible. ‼️‼️
