Our volunteers with Mercer County Teen Court recently had the valuable opportunity to travel to Charleston, West Virginia, to visit the State Capitol and engage directly with several of our state legislators. During the visit, participants observed both the Senate and House of Delegates in session, gaining firsthand insight into the legislative process and how laws are debated and enacted.
The group also toured the West Virginia Supreme Court, where they learned more about the judicial branch and its role within our state government.
This experience provided meaningful civic education and real-world exposure to the three branches of government. Our volunteers were enthusiastic, engaged, and deeply appreciative of everyone who helped make this opportunity possible.
Thank you to our fearless leader, Hermoine Granger and driver/chaperson Lori Kinney and our future leaders of tomorrow representing all schools in Mercer County, WV making the trip: Autumn Mckenzie, Seth Farley, Matthew Arnold-Hale, Nathan Slatton, Mya Scyphers, Elida Arguello, Isaac LaRue, Peyton England, Savannah Lilly, Terra Rumsey, Charlie Kinney
And thank you to our legislators who prioritize our communities.
