The Princeton Fire Department is a combination department staffed with approximately forty-five (45) firefighters who are either full time, part-time, or volunteer. Our department serves roughly forty-four (44.62) square miles of incor

porated city, and unincorporated county area, plus we have an additional 10 squares miles of Lake Lavon responsibility. Currently, US 380 eastbound at Boorman Lane is shut down due to an accident. At this time, no eastbound lanes are getting through. Traffic is being diverted to Boorman Lane.

Please use patience and caution when traveling through the area, and seek alternate routes if possible.

It's Memorial Day Weekend, and while we would love to be invited to your cookout, we don't want to come over because you had a preventable grilling accident. Follow these tips to stay safe while you're grilling this holiday weekend!

-Keep a safe distance. Keep your grill at least 10 feet away from any structures, including your home, garage, or trees. This prevents accidental fires and keeps everyone safe.

-Clean your grill. Before firing up the grill, thoroughly clean it to remove any built-up grease or residue. This reduces the risk of flare-ups that can lead to burns or fires.

-Stay attentive. Never leave your grill unattended while it's in use. Keep an eye on it at all times, especially if children or pets are around. A moment of distraction could lead to a dangerous situation.

-Have a fire extinguisher handy. Be prepared for emergencies by keeping a fire extinguisher nearby whenever you grill. Familiarize yourself with how to use it beforehand to act quickly if needed.

The US National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5 p.m. Hazards include small hail and 50 mph winds.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Traffic Alert

The eastbound lanes of US 380 are shut down, and the westbound side is down to one lane due to a motor vehicle accident at US 380 and Cypress Bend Parkway. Please use caution when traveling through the area and seek an alternate route if possible.
