Merik4VP Merik4VP - Building Capacity for Collaboration The Vice President is responsible for the efficient internal workings of the USG.

WEBSITE: www.princeton.edu/~mmulcahy

Over my past two terms in the USG I have had the opportunity to make some valuable contributions and come to understand where there is still room for improvement. The USG should be expanding access to our resources and including more groups and organizations on campus in our work. As the USG VP I hope to develop internal organizational processes that will expa

nd and deepen how the USG a) communicates with students, b) makes our resources and network accessible c) facilitates student voice, and d) facilitates collaboration between various student organizations and institutions on campus, all in a way that improves the quality of Senate projects and services. Please check out my full platform, concrete plans, and work experience on my website this week!

Thank you all so much for your support during this campaign. I appreciate each and every one of your votes, and the endorsements of every single member of the USG who chose to endorse a candidate in this race. It was inspiring and motivating to talk directly with people from so many different perspectives within our community over the course of the campaign. I look forward to continuing to work improve access to information, access to resources and to build capacity for collaboration within the USG and in our Princeton community in whatever way I can.

"As Projects Manager, sometimes I list out which projects each Senate member is working on to make sure everyone's moving on something. Whenever I get to Merik, I always have to add another column on my Excel sheet because he always exceeds the amount of projects that the average person works on. Keep in mind - this is on top of his normal U-Council duties. Merik's always the one thinking about what no one else thinks of; he questions what the USG does so we don't ever just continue in tradition for the sake of it. He's got incredible passion for USG and will really carry out everything he mentions in his platform. Those aren't just empty words. He's spent a long time developing it; trust me, I know. Reach out to him if you have ideas or questions - he really wants to hear them!" - Charissa Shen, USG Projects Manager

"I have known Merik Mulcahy for nearly three years, and while I could write at length about his outstanding leadership qualities, his ability to work with others, and his commitment to the USG and to Princeton, what impresses me most about Merik is his ability to connect with people. Whether its on the Street, around a conference table, or just chilling in a common room, Merik is genuinely interested in other students--what interests them, what makes them angry, what excites them? It doesn't matter what residential college you're from, where you eat your meals, or with whom you hang out on campus--if you are a Princeton student who takes the time and energy to articulate your ideas, Merik will listen with an open, thoughtful, critical mind. And the best thing is that for Merik, it won't be an obligation. It's just what he loves to do. As Class of 2013 Social Chair, I fully endorse him and encourage all to read his platform, talk to him, and vote Merik Mulcahy for USG Vice President." - Jamie Joseph, Class of 2013 Social Chair
