This is the part of the job the public doesn’t always see. Behind the lights and sirens are moments where seconds matter, training matters, and teamwork matters. Over the past month, Princeton Fire responded to several critical medical emergencies where rapid assessment and treatment made a difference.
Recent calls have included:
🔹️Mountain rescue today for an ankle injury. Rescue efforts were provided by PFD, Westminster, MA Fire Department, Princeton Police Department and DCR.
🔹️USPS vehicle vs Pole
🔹️ A patient in tachycardia who was stabilized by paramedics using heart rhythm stabilization medications before arrival at the hospital.
🔹️A patient suffering what was believed to be back pain that was identified by medics as a possible aortic aneurysm — allowing for rapid transport and advanced care.
🔹️A severe seizure call where quick intervention helped protect the patient’s airway and condition.
🔹️Two separate stroke-related emergencies where rapid recognition, treatment, and transport to UMass helped patients receive definitive stroke care as quickly as possible.
These incidents are reminders that advanced prehospital care truly saves lives. We are proud of the professionalism, calm decision-making, and teamwork shown by our members every day.
Thank you to our dispatchers at Wachusett Regional Emergency Communications Center , mutual aid partners, and hospital staff who work alongside us on these critical calls.
