Dolly Parton was an incredible force for good in the world. She gave the incredible gift of millions of free books to children and libraries across America through her charitable foundation, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Her passing yesterday is a great loss.
Pick up her biography here at the library soon, and keep on workin' nine to five- Dolly's somewhere up there looking out for us.

If not friend, why friend-shaped? This curious deer in Polk County needs to be careful not to get poked when encountering a porcupine at night.

The photo comes from a Snapshot Wisconsin trail camera. More than 1,500 volunteers across the state have been managing trail cameras as part of this community science program for over 10 years. That’s a lot of photos collected, over 100 million and counting!

Want to see more photos like this? Anyone can help contribute to the project by identifying what species are present in the photos on a crowdsourcing website called Zooniverse. Zooniverse has a field guide to help you get started and talk boards to share your favorite images with others.
