The May 2026 edition of Inside Motahkomikuk is here!

"This month features the Motahkomikuk 8th-grade graduating class, some great updates from ITS and Maine Indian Education, and celebrates Passamaquoddy High School Graduates. Red Dress Day continues to shine a guiding light on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s movement, as our very own Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocacy Center hosts its annual walk to raise local awareness. A new initiative at the Picture Rocks petroglyphs posts a major employment listing. Passamaquoddy students from both Sipayik & Motahkomikuk visit the Pennamaquan River with Tribal Historian Donald Soctomah to learn all things waterways, fisheries, and friendships. As warm weather begins to roll into the Dawnlands, so do all of the summer events – look out for everything going on in June and beyond.
IM turns one year – we look forward to continuing to capture moments, highlight history, and share our stories!"

The April 2026 edition of Inside Motahkomikuk is here!

"This month features a visit from gubernatorial candidate Hannah Pingree; she shares her stance on tribal sovereignty among other topics. Elders were able to get in contact with local resources at the annual Elder Expo, hosted by the Indian Township Health Center and Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness. The Bingo Hall reached its capacity at the last High Stakes Bingo and is hoping for an expansion before May's High Stakes dates. The serene Bear Lodge & Cabins down the New Pit Road have made some worthy upgrades and are taking bookings throughout the year.
Starting on page 8, May has a handful of upcoming events to look forward to with some that may pop up with shorter notices."
