Behind the water running in your home, there's an infrastructure system, including miles of pipes, treatment plants, storage facilities, pumps & more. To keep our services reliable, we need to invest in the infrastructure that our community depends on.
There are 2 HUGE misconceptions about water among the public:
1. “There’s plenty of water—we’ll never run out.”
· Reality: Although Earth has a lot of water, less than 1% is readily available freshwater for human use.
· Overuse, pollution, drought, and population growth strain water supplies.
· Conservation and infrastructure investment are essential to long-term water security.
2. “Bottled water is safer than tap water.”
· Reality: In the United States, public tap water is highly regulated and frequently tested under EPA rules.
· Bottled water is regulated differently and often does not require public reporting of test results.
· In many communities, tap water is just as safe—or safer—than bottled water, and far more cost-effective.
Below is a short clip of Griffin Donaldson, another one of our water heroes, recently touring a group of students at Caldwell County Elementary School. In this clip, Griffin is educating the students in just one of the MANY tests that are conducted to ensure the water that we supply makes it safely to your tap 💙💦
And just a note, Griffin is also an employee that holds certification in water treatment. 😊
