🏴‍☠️🎉 FIFTH GRADE PIRATES FINISH STRONG! 🎉🏴‍☠️
Today we are celebrating the incredible growth, perseverance, and hard work of our Fifth Grade Pirates!
📚 In Reading, students performing on or above grade level increased from 28% to 43%, while the percentage of students performing two or more grade levels below decreased from 52% to 31%.
➕ In Math, students performing on or above grade level increased from 13% to 28%, while the percentage of students performing two or more grade levels below decreased from 42% to 32%.
These numbers tell an amazing story—but the real story is about our students. It is about children who worked hard, refused to give up, believed in themselves, and showed tremendous growth throughout the year. It is about teachers who poured their hearts into helping every child succeed and families who supported learning every step of the way.
As these students prepare to leave Mercer and begin their middle school journey, we couldn't be more proud of the progress they have made and the resilience they have shown.

🏴‍☠️🎉📚 FOURTH GRADE PIRATES ARE THRIVING! ➕🎉🏴‍☠️
Today we are celebrating the incredible growth, hard work, and determination of our Fourth Grade Pirates!
This year, our students made tremendous gains in both Reading and Math:
📚 Reading
⭐ Students performing on or above grade level increased from 20% to 46%
⭐ Students performing two or more grade levels below decreased from 39% to 27%
➕ Math
⭐ Students performing on or above grade level increased from 8% to 43%
⭐ Students performing two or more grade levels below decreased from 44% to 24%
These numbers represent so much more than percentages. They represent students who worked hard, teachers who never gave up, families who supported learning at home, and a school community committed to helping every child succeed.
Growth is what we celebrate at Mercer. Every student who moved forward, gained confidence, mastered new skills, and challenged themselves helped make this success possible.

🏴‍☠️📚➕ Look at the Growth Our Third Grade Pirates Achieved This Year! ➕📚🏴‍☠️

We are incredibly proud of our students and teachers for the tremendous academic growth demonstrated this year.
📚 ELA proficiency more than doubled, increasing from 30% at the beginning of the year to 65% by the end of the year — a gain of 35 percentage points!
➕ Math proficiency soared from 1% on or above grade level to 37% by the end of the year — a gain of 36 percentage points!
📉 Even more impressive, the percentage of students performing two or more grade levels below in math decreased from 46% to just 14%, demonstrating the impact of targeted instruction, intervention, and relentless effort. The percentage of students performing two or more grade levels below in ELA (reading) decreased from 39% to 13%! WOW!!!
These results didn't happen by accident. They are the product of dedicated teachers, supportive families, intervention staff, and students who worked hard every single day.
At Mercer, we believe growth matters. We celebrate every child who moved forward, every teacher who refused to give up, and every family who partnered with us along the way.

The love for our future Pirates just keeps growing! ❤️🏴‍☠️
Today, one of our amazing third-grade students shared a special poem she wrote just for our upcoming second graders. Her words were full of kindness, encouragement, and excitement as we prepare to welcome our newest crew to Mercer next year.
Moments like these remind us that Mercer is more than a school — it’s a family. We cannot wait to welcome our future Pirates and continue building a school filled with love, leadership, and Pirate Pride! ☠️✨

There is trouble in the mine. There is a cave in. Our Pirates have to use their circuit knowledge to get the lights and fan back on as part of the escape room. They completed the mission and freed the trapped miners with 5 minutes to spare!!!
