We’re Hiring! Employment Consultant – Dubois County

The Arc Southwest Indiana is looking for a compassionate, organized, and upbeat Employment Consultant to support individuals with disabilities in finding meaningful community employment.

If you’re a natural multitasker with strong communication skills and a heart for helping others succeed, this could be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Do:
• Support participants with job searches and applications
• Complete intakes and assist with resume building
• Provide transportation for job‑related activities
• Offer on‑the‑job training and employer support
• Advocate for participants in the workplace
• Complete Chrono documentation, VR/Waiver billing, and Quarterly VR Reports
• Assist with Project Search
• Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:
✔ Positive attitude and strong communication
✔ Reliable, organized, and a team player
✔ Flexible Monday–Friday schedule (some varied hours)
✔ Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Nathan joined The Arc Southwest Indiana in January 2023 as our Janitor and quickly demonstrated the work ethic, reliability, and initiative that led to his promotion to Director of Maintenance in July 2024. He never hesitates to take on new tasks, no matter how challenging or messy they may be. Nathan brings strong knowledge of all aspects of his work, approaches every situation with professionalism, and represents our agency with pride. We are pleased to announce that Daylinn Suits has been selected as March’s Employee of the Month for the outstanding work she has been doing in our Employment Department for the Posey County area since joining us in July 2024.

Daylinn has consistently stepped up in ways that extend far beyond her regular responsibilities. She has shown exceptional flexibility, willingly taking on additional tasks and filling in wherever needed to ensure continuity and support for the team. Her reliability and readiness to help have made a noticeable impact on daily operations.

During a recent staffing transition, Daylinn played a key role in keeping the department running smoothly. She not only helped maintain workflow after a team member’s departure but also provided valuable support in training a new employee. NEW: 9 U.S. states are suing the federal government to fight the "integration mandate," which allows people with disabilities to receive services in the community rather than in institutions. If they are successful, more people with disabilities may be forced into institutions, when they can and want to live in the community instead. The disability community has fought long and hard for strong disability rights laws, and we cannot allow them to be weakened.
