🌅 Ride Safe Monday: When the Sun Hides the Road

Early morning and evening sunlight can sit directly in a driver’s or cyclist’s line of sight—making people, bicycles, traffic lights, and road hazards much harder to see.

When glare is strong:

🚗 Slow down and leave extra stopping distance
🚲 Use front and rear lights, even during daylight
🕶️ Keep sunglasses within reach
🪟 Make sure windshields and eyewear are clean
🚶 Never assume someone looking toward you can actually see you

If you can’t see clearly, don’t keep moving at the same speed and hope for the best.

Slow down. Create space. Give your eyes time to adjust.

🦩 Sunday Stroll: The Great Princeton Lawn-Ornament Safari

Today’s mission: Take a walk and see how many members of Princeton’s unofficial lawn-decoration population you can spot.

Be on the lookout for:

🦩 Flamingos
🧙 Garden gnomes
🐸 Ceramic animals
🪿 Porch geese in seasonal outfits
🚲 Decorative bicycles
🛞 Repurposed wagon wheels
❓ Something you can’t explain at all

Please admire all wildlife from the sidewalk. The gnomes are known to be territorial. 😂

What’s the most unusual lawn ornament you’ve seen around Princeton?

Happy Sunday, Princeton!

🚲 Ride Safe Princeton Monday

Before you pedal away, check what might be dangling.

An untied shoelace, loose pant leg, long jacket tie, or hanging bag strap can become caught in a bicycle’s chain, gears, or wheel—and bring a ride to a very sudden stop.

Before riding:

👟 Tie and tuck in your shoelaces.
👖 Roll up or secure loose pant legs.
🎒 Check that backpack straps aren’t hanging down.
🧥 Tuck away loose cords or clothing.
🚲 Give the pedals and wheels one quick spin before leaving.

It takes only a few seconds, but it can prevent a painful fall.

Sometimes riding safely begins before the bicycle even starts moving.
