Something happened to me this afternoon that really made my campaign come full circle.

Many of you know the reason I decided to step up for this office now instead of later was because of the attempted book banning that occurred my daughters freshman year of highschool.

The sole YES vote was cast by Amy Bingham. Now she is running for school board again.

Those of you who know me know I'm not afraid to speak my mind so when I see something about her, I remind everyone of that vote.

She called me this afternoon to ask me what my problem was. Said I was "bashing her on Facebook".

Let me make it perfectly clear:

If you vote like a fascist, I will call you out! Stand on it! All 10 toes!

I don't know what she thought was going to happen but let me tell you, the voters, something :

I will not be friends behind the scenes with the people I oppose publicly. No backroom deals. No sucking up!

I call it how I see it and I trust our teachers!

I'm not sorry.

I am angry!

It's troubling that we have someone running for school board who voted in favor of censorship while Indiana just received an F in education.

Today, the federal government allowed allocation of federal funds to be determined by the states. Who do you think will be hurt the most?

Amy Bingham said she voted that way because she didn't like what the book said about God but yet, she didn't even take the time to read it herself. I wonder where her vote will go when it's time to fund programs for our most vulnerable or something she doesn't personally agree with.

It was a signal to the far right that she will help usher in the Heritage Foundation and its Christian Nationalist brand of fascism.

She was given all the context, history, and opinions of the community and still voted against our teachers. At a time when teacher retention is at an all time low as well as their pay, she took it upon herself to make a statement with her vote.

The Gibson County Democratic Party has stated they will not take a stance against a candidate. It is a shame that we are still expected to tolerate this blatant attack on critical thinking and trust in our educators.

I will stand up for our teachers. I will stand up for our children. I will hold those in power accountable for their voting record.

I am angry.

I keep seeing this graphic. A pictures worth a thousand words…Data centers get billions in tax breaks because of what happens at the statehouse. HEA 1405 (2019) created the sales‑ and use‑tax exemptions on equipment, construction materials, and electricity. Those exemptions now add up to billions.
It passed 95–1. Because both parties can fall for propaganda.
We need lawmakers who question lobbyists, push back on industry insiders, and actually ask tough questions.
Most of all, we need representatives who know the best economic development strategy is hard‑working Hoosiers.
When we put them first, we don’t lose.
