She came in the middle of the night.
Unfortunately, that part of the story is not unusual. In fact, many of these stories begin this way.
A little girl entered care with almost nothing. No suitcase. No dresser full of clothes. No collection of favorite toys. Just a few belongings and a family willing to say yes.
A family who stepped into kinship care. A family who answered the call, even though it was not part of their plan. But often, that is how God works. He calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things, and they say yes anyway.
In those first overwhelming hours, several organizations came alongside them, including The Isaiah 1:17 Project. Together, we were able to provide some of the essentials this little girl needed to begin her new journey: sleepers, outfits, diapers, formula, toys, and other necessities.
These may seem like small things, but to a child arriving with nothing, they mean everything.
This work is important, and much of it happens quietly. You may never see the 1:00 a.m. phone call. You may never witness the exhausted caregiver trying to figure out what a child needs before morning. You may never see the tears, the uncertainty, or the courage it takes to say yes.
But because of your generosity, we do.
Your support helps us meet needs that most people never see. It helps turn fear into comfort, uncertainty into stability, and difficult beginnings into stories filled with hope.
And to the family who opened their home and their hearts, thank you for saying yes. Thank you for stepping into the unknown. Thank you for providing safety, love, and belonging when it was needed most. Children need people willing to answer the call, and your yes is changing a life.
Thank you for helping us see the unseen and serve children and families when they need it most.
You remind us that resources matter, but the greatest gift is still someone willing to say yes.
