Mdewakanton Public Safety

As part of Fire Prevention Week, Mdewakanton Public Safety visited Playworks to talk about fire safety and the important work first responders do to keep our communities safe.

Recent studies have shown children 14 and under have a relative risk of dying in a fire that is 60% less than that of the general population. This lower risk may be attributed, in part, to an increase in public fire education and prevention efforts by fire departments and other safety organizations.
