What started on December 16, 2025, as what appeared to be nothing more than a random pile of metal next door to the fire station quickly became one of the community’s favorite mysteries. Then, on April 2, 2026, construction crews arrived and began work on what many jokingly referred to as a “top secret project” behind the station.
As rumors made their way across social media, the guesses became more creative by the day — everything from an indoor water park, to an ice skating rink, to even a brand-new Chick-fil-A. While we have to admit a built-in chicken sandwich stop would have been a nice addition for the crew, the truth is just as exciting.
We’re proud to share that this is the rebuild of the back half of our fire station, which was heavily impacted by the severe storms on April 2, 2024. After a long two years, seeing this project come to life is a major step forward for our department and our community.
With the expertise of Riedel-Wilks Building Structures Inc., the new addition is being rebuilt stronger, more structurally sound, and updated to better serve our department for years to come.
Most importantly, we want to thank our community for your continued support, patience, and encouragement throughout this process. Your support has meant a great deal to our department as we’ve worked through the challenges of the past two years. We’re excited to see this next chapter take shape — even if it’s not the indoor water park some were hoping for.
