Parents and guardians, please be advised that today, the parent pick-up area located on the Early College side of Progreso High School will NOT be accessible as we continue preparations for tomorrow’s fundraiser.

We kindly ask that you use the main High School side for parent pick-up today and follow the directions of staff assisting with dismissal. Please do not get in bus drop off line.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience, cooperation, and continued support tas we prepare for tomorrow’s event.

As we continue preparing for tomorrow’s Benefit BBQ fundraiser, we want to remind everyone that tickets are still available!

Plates will be available for pick up on site-Cash Only. If you are planning to purchase 10 or more plates, please contact us at (956) 532-7000 in advance. This will help us ensure your plates are set aside, prepared, and ready for pickup on time.

We would like to clarify that the BBQ fundraiser hosted by Progreso High School is the only fundraiser currently being hosted by Progreso Independent School District. This fundraiser is being held in support of the family of our student, Alexander Salazar, following his tragic loss.

We truly appreciate the compassion and community spirit surrounding the other fundraisers organized by outside groups. We are grateful to everyone who is coming together to support Alexander’s family and our school community during this difficult time.

However, please be aware that Progreso ISD is only hosting and participating in the Progreso High School BBQ fundraiser. Because the other fundraisers are organized independently by outside groups, the district cannot provide information, assistance, or support regarding those events.

For questions or information about an outside fundraiser, please contact the organization or individuals hosting that specific event directly.
Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for coming together to support Alexander’s family. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic passing of Alexander Salazar, a beloved member of our Progreso High School family. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to Alexander’s family, friends, and everyone in our community affected by this devastating loss. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain with us forever. At a time like this, it is imperative that our community come together. Counseling services will be available at Progreso High School until further notice.
