We would like to ask you all as you go about your days to please keep the Tampico Fire and EMS as well as the family in your thoughts and prayers as they have lost a very wonderful and dedicated member not only of their service but of their family.
Rest in peace Kathy we will take it from here.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our members Kathy Leathers. Kathy was a dedicated EMT/ coordinator with 40 years of hard work and dedication to the Tampico EMS. Kathy was one of a kind, wonderful person and taught many people over the years. Please keep Kathy’s family and EMS family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thursday and Friday this week we were able to have students from pre-k all the way to 2nd grade come to the station to learn about fire prevention! This is one of our favorite times of the year. All the students did great and hopefully learned something with having some fun too!

Over the last 2 weekends we hosted a Fire Service Instructor 1 course. It was taught by instructors from IFSI. This is a 40 hour class that teaches students how to instruct and prep for training in the fire service. This is very important to districts like us because it helps us be able to train the right way and make sure our records for training are accurately done.

We want to thank all the students and instructors that came and participated!

With drier than normal weather conditions at this time, The Prophetstown Fire Protection District is placing a burn ban for the entire Prophetstown Fire District until further notice. The use of gas/LP or charcoal grills is permitted as long as they are constantly monitored. This will remain in effect until conditions improve. Thank you for your cooperation.
