We would like to extend our congratulations to Captain Jay Pugliese on being named Firefighter of the Year, and to Sergeant Jason Carrier of the Prospect Police Department on being named Police Officer of the Year by the Cheshire-Prospect Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Captain Pugliese has served the Prospect Fire Department with dedication and professionalism for more than two decades. Throughout his career he has taken on numerous leadership roles and continues to play a vital part in our operations, training, and the overall success of the department. His commitment to the safety of our community and the members of this department makes him truly deserving of this recognition.

We also congratulate Sergeant Carrier for his outstanding service and commitment to the residents of Prospect. The strong partnership between our Fire Department and Police Department is essential to keeping our community safe, and it is great to see that dedication recognized.

📚 Read Across America Week with the Prospect Public Library! 📚

In celebration of Read Across America Week, members of the The Volunteer Fire Department of Prospect, Inc. teamed up with the Prospect Public Library to help promote the importance of reading in our community!

We had a great time putting together a special video to encourage kids and families to pick up a book and enjoy the adventure that reading can bring. Whether it's a favorite classic, a new story, or bedtime reading with family, books help spark imagination and lifelong learning.

A big thank you to the staff at the Prospect Public Library for partnering with us and for everything they do to support literacy in our community.

While the weather hits hard, these members are in the firehouse by choice, volunteering their time, staffing the station, and standing ready to answer the call when the tones drop.

This is where the job gets done, and where the bonds are built. The firehouse kitchen table has seen it all; planning, problem-solving, laughs, and long nights. The best memories aren’t always made on the fireground… they’re made right here.
