Practice makes perfect! This week on , our ladies and gents spent some more time practicing their vehicle stabilization and patient extrication skills. They also got thrown a little hazmat curveball into the mix! Dedicating time to working with the various equipment and demonstrating different methods of vehicle extrication allows us to operate more quickly and efficiently on accident scenes and better serve our communities! Thank you to Errera's, Alex, and Teagan for providing us with a location to sharpen our skills and for building this scenario for us!

Today, our Department along with several surrounding departments participated in a Heavy Vehicle Rescue Training held at Bill Errera Auto Towing, hosted by Alex Wigton. Our members and the other department members worked together and were shown different ways of how Towing companies can assist us in difficult situations that we may come across in the line of helping others during their emergencies. Members met different situations today and worked with Alex and his team to get to our patients as quickly and efficiently as possible with the help of their heavy rescue equipment. A huge Thank you to Alex and Errera's for hosting this event and showing us all the things that you can do to help us, and thank you to all the other departments that came out to enjoy, learn, and advance our skills today.

πŸ‘©β€πŸš’One of our junior firefighters, Ayden Glagola honored the memory of the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, by walking 2,977 steps at Slippery Rock High School.

One step for every victim of that tragic day.
This simple but meaningful act serves as a reminder that we will never forget the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of the firefighters, first responders, and all those who answered the call that day.

We are proud to see the next generation of firefighters carrying forward the values of service, remembrance, and honor.

Never Forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸš’

We would like to sincerely thank the Slippery Rock Area School District for inviting us to take part in their 9/11 remembrance ceremony and for presenting our department with this special recognition.

We are truly honored to have been included as we came together to remember and pay tribute to the lives lost, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and all those whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We will never forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
