Prosper's 40 Days of Service is underway, and this past week members of the Town's Executive Team and Directors put servant leadership into action at Cornerstone Assistance Network of North Central Texas.

The team helped inspect and pack backpacks filled with school supplies for students who will be attending Prosper ISD high schools next year. Cornerstone Prosper works to support neighbors in need through faith-based programs and community partnerships, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside them.

Fight the bite! 🦟 Mosquitoes can breed in as little as a tablespoon of standing water. Help reduce mosquito activity around your home by regularly emptying containers that collect water, keeping gutters clear, changing pet and bird bath water frequently, and properly maintaining pools and hot tubs.

When spending time outdoors, use mosquito repellent and consider wearing long sleeves and pants for added protection. Small steps can make a big difference in preventing mosquito breeding and protecting your family this season.

In Episode 20, Deputy Town Manager Bob Scott continues the America 250 series by exploring the remarkable story of Alexander Hamilton and the financial foundation of the United States.

As the new nation emerged from the Revolutionary War, it faced a daunting challenge. The United States had won its independence, but it was burdened by debt, struggling with a weak currency, and lacking financial credibility on the world stage. Addressing those challenges fell largely to Alexander Hamilton, the nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury. Born on the Caribbean island of Nevis and rising through determination and intellect, Hamilton believed that a strong financial system was essential to the survival and success of the republic.

Hamilton proposed an ambitious economic plan that would reshape the nation. One of his most controversial ideas was having the federal government assume the debts accumulated by individual states during the Revolution. The proposal sparked fierce debate among leaders including Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, but ultimately led to a compromise that not only strengthened the nation’s finances but also helped establish the future capital city of Washington, D.C.

Hamilton also championed the creation of a national bank to stabilize the currency, strengthen credit, and support economic growth. Although critics questioned whether the Constitution granted such authority, Hamilton successfully argued that the federal government possessed the necessary powers to carry out its responsibilities. The result was a financial system that helped transform the young nation and laid the groundwork for the economic strength the United States enjoys today.

Hamilton’s story reminds us that long-term success depends on building a strong foundation. Here in Prosper, that same principle guides how we invest in infrastructure, manage resources, and plan for the future. Sound financial stewardship helps create opportunities today while ensuring a stronger community for generations to come.

Watch Episode 20 and follow along each week as we lead up to Prosper’s Pride in the Sky celebration at Frontier Park on July 2.
