Prosser Leadership Business & Industry Day was a great success!

Our class spent the day learning firsthand about the entrepreneurs, business owners, and organizations that help drive Prosser's economy and community spirit.

The day kicked off with a Lunch & Learn at El Buen Gusto, followed by visits to several outstanding local businesses, including Brewminatti where new owner Peter Cole shared his vision for the future. Participants also toured AJW Construction, Sunflower Juice & Delights, Monson Ranch Distillers, Chukar Cherries, and Cork & Taps.

Thank you to each business for opening your doors, sharing your stories, and providing valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities of doing business in our community.

The Prosser Leadership Class is grateful to everyone who helped make our Community Health Fair a success, especially our partners at Prosser Memorial Health.

Together, we provided free health screenings, connected community members with valuable local resources, and created a fun, family-friendly experience through the Kid's Science Expo. From DEXA scans and A1C testing to hearing screenings and wellness information, the event helped bring important health services directly to our community.

Thank you to the PMH team, volunteers and everyone who attended. Your support, expertise, and commitment to community wellness made this event possible.

The Prosser Leadership program had an informative and engaging day focused on community history, downtown development, and education within the Prosser School District.

Thank you to Alys Means and the Prosser Historical Museum for providing an outstanding museum presentation and downtown walking tour. Despite the blustery weather, the tour offered a valuable perspective on our city’s heritage and continued growth.

We also extend our appreciation to Deanna Flores for hosting the group at Prosser High School and for sharing an excellent presentation on office organization, time management, and professional effectiveness. Her insight and practical guidance provided meaningful takeaways for all participants.

The Prosser Leadership class had an impactful and informative Public Services Day, learning firsthand how local city and county departments serve the community.

The day was hosted by Rachel Shaw, City Administrator, and Mayor Gary Vegar, who helped set the stage for a meaningful look inside public service in Prosser.

The class began with a Lunch & Learn at Brewminatti with Katy McLaughlin, Prosser Library Branch Manager.

At the Benton County Courthouse, Commissioner Michael Alvarez and Lorene Roe, Chief Deputy Auditor, provided insight into county government operations and the critical role they play in serving residents.

City Hall tours included presentations from Toni Yost (Finance Director/HR), Marty Groom (Public Works Department), and Nick Alsbury (Building Official), Mayor Vegar and Rachel Shaw highlighting the essential behind-the-scenes work that keeps the city running smoothly.

The day concluded with tours of:
🚔 The Prosser Police Station led by Sergeant Scott Orate and Officer Jon Cox
🚒 The Prosser Fire Station led by Fire Chief Charles Damron

Public Services Day offered the class a deeper appreciation for the dedicated professionals who serve the Prosser community every day.
