Unfortunately, our Bellwood customers are not able to utilize this method of payment at the current time. We are hoping to be able to offer this to you in the near future as we move ahead with construction of lines to Hagewood and installation of new electronic meters to all customers.

MEETING NOTICE

Please be advised that Bellwood Water System, Inc. Board of Directors and voting membership will meet on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. at the System Office, 135 Bellwood Church Road in Bellwood, LA for the purpose of voting to consolidate Hagewood Water System, Inc. with Bellwood Water System, Inc.

Voting Membership: The member designated as owner on the Membership Form – one voting member per active/in use meter. You must be present to vote.

The Office of Community Services is currently offering a program that will give a one-time assistance to low income families for water bills. The maximum water benefit is $1500. If you're interested contact the OCS Office in Natchitoches (318) 357-2220 and asked to speak with someone in the LIHWAP program. You will need a copy of your current bill showing how much you owe. Our new bills will be mailed out Friday, March 31, so I would suggest you wait for that bill before applying.

The construction crew on Harmony Road has cut our water line. Customers on Harmony Rd, Vernon Wester Rd, Provencal Vowells Mill Rd and 117 from Provencal to Friendship Cemetery Rd are affected. We are on site and will repair as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. Please share.

Some of our customers were complaining about air in the lines and we were attempting to flush. Then everyone started complaining about low pressure! So, we are turning off the flush valve. If your water is white that's just AIR. It will NOT hurt you! If you let it sit for a minute it will clear up. We're sorry that we can't please everyone at the same time but are doing the best that we can do! We appreciate your continuing to report any problems. If we don't answer immediately or make a Facebook post, we are probably out working to keep good water to everyone.

In preparation for the coming artic wave, this is a reminder to be sure to wrap pipes, turn off any active meters that are not in use (such as at camps or weekend homes or if you wont be home during the holidays). If your home is off the ground be sure pipes underneath are insulated. You may want to leave a faucet dripping. Stay warm and have a Merry Christmas!

2022 W.J. Fournet Scholarship Application
Dear LRWA Members:

Louisiana Rural Water Association will award two (2) scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to either graduating high school seniors or enrolled college students.

The W.J. Fournet Scholarship was created in honor of Mr. Willis Fournet, who was not only one of the founding members of the Louisiana Rural Water Association but also an educator, coach, and elementary school principal. He was very instrumental in guiding LRWA to its present state by utilizing his background in education to train and assist water and wastewater operators across the state.

We encourage you to forward this email to your local high school counselors, as well as, placing a notice on your bulletin board and mention it at your monthly board meetings.

Applicants must reside on water and/or wastewater system who is a member of LRWA, be a citizen or legal resident of the United States, and a resident of Louisiana. Previous scholarship applicants and winners may also apply.

The Board of Directors and employees of Bellwood Water System, Inc. are deeply sorry for the loss of our Board Member Lori Ann Savell . Lori has been a vital and active part of our Board for several years. Our hearts are so sad and she will be sorely missed by all of us. Please keep her husband Kelby, her extended family and friends in your prayers.

THE BILLS FOR THOSE CUSTOMER WITH PROVENCAL ADDRESSES WILL BE SENT OUT ON ROUTE OR PUT IN P.O. BOX (AS THEY WERE IN THE PAST) WITHOUT BEING SENT THROUGH SHREVEPORT FIRST!!! SHE IS NEW AND DID NOT KNOW TO DO THIS. SHE IS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. PLEASE DO NOT BLAME HER!
