Susan Campbell Harper
To whom it may concern and/or those who remember Mom while she was part of the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad: Her obit: Janie Farrar Campbell, 89, of Beech Grove, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017. Born in Nelson County, May 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Robert Austin and Minnie Mayo Farrar. Janie had been a retired private duty LPN. She was a life member of Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad, a 15 year member of Quinton Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary, as well as a member of Beech Grove Christian Church. She is survived by sons, Clark Edward Campbell and his wife, Leslie of Beech Grove, and Thomas L. Campbell Jr. of Loxley, Alabama; a daughter, Susan Campbell Harper and her husband, Douglas, of Naples, Florida; a sister, Doris Farrar Colgin of Stuarts Draft; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas L. Campbell, Paige King, and George Pankey; a son, Donald Austin Campbell; a daughter, Sandra Anne Campbell; brothers, John Aubrey Farrar and Bland Weems Farrar; and a sister, Irene Farrar Tench. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017, in Beech Grove Cemetery by Chaplain Karen Moore. Byrum-Parr Funeral Home is serving the family. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Area 5 Special Olympics in Verona, c/o Patti Strickland.
Sandra's obit: Sandra Anne Campbell, 55, of Nelson County, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Waynesboro, July 20, 1962, she was a daughter of Janie Farrar Campbell and the late Thomas L. Campbell. Sandra had been an L.C. Bird High school graduate, Chesterfield Courthouse. For four years, she was at the Zuni Presbyterian Training Center in Zuni, Va. She had been employed with the Hermitage Enterprises Sheltered Workshop in Richmond where she did piece work. Sandra had a deep love for the Special Olympics. She enjoyed competing, having proudly won several gold medals and trophies. She also enjoyed singing in the Special Olympics Choir at the Church on the Hill. She loved to dance and had such a beautiful smile that was contagious to those around her. In addition to her mother, she is survived by brothers, Thomas L. Campbell, Jr. of Loxley, Ala. and Clark E. Campbell (Leslie) of Roseland; a sister, Susan Campbell Harper (Doug) of Naples, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Austin Campbell. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017, in Beech Grove Cemetery.
