Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office and the Coyle family.

We also send love and prayers to the Crittenden County School system. Deputy Coyle had a profound impact on so many young lives there.

Please continue to keep the Coyle family in your prayers for the days to come

Providence Police were notified tonight of a threat made involving an act of violence against Providence Elementary School.

Providence Police quickly identified the student who made this concerning comment. The student has been fully cooperative and admits to making a statement that should never have been made. This student will not be on school property tomorrow.

School officials have been notified.

Preparations have been made for additional Police presence as well as additional school staff to be in place at Providence Elementary tomorrow.

At the time of this post, Providence Police have not identified any credible threat to the school, the students or staff.

Providence Police have filed charges in this case and will turn prosecution over to the Webster County Attorney's Office.

Law enforcement take these comments very seriously. The safety of the students, staff and administration is a top priority for us.

Again, we have NOT identified any credible threat to Providence Elementary, any student or any staff member.

A message from Beech Grove Police Chief Michael Maurice:

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that today we lost one of our very own, Officer Brian Elliott. Officer Elliott, along with two other Beech Grove Police Department officers, was dispatched at 6:08 p.m. to the 100 block of Diplomat Court for a disturbance. After they arrived, Officer Elliott and another officer were shot. Both officers were rushed to Eskenazi Hospital, but despite the best lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, Officer Elliott succumbed to his injuries. The other officer, who we are not naming at this time, is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.

My heart goes out to Brian’s wife, Erin, his parents, and all of his family, friends, and loved ones. At this time, I am asking that we lean on one another to get through this.

We are grateful to the team at Eskenazi Hospital, and our law enforcement and community partners for their extraordinary response and support."

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Beech Grove Indiana Police Department. Two officers were shot, one has died.

Happy Birthday Miss Adelaide!

This is Providence Police Departments newest Officer. She turned 7 years old today! She will soon be the newest Detective in our Department.

She is actively working her first case now. If you notice, in one picture, she is wearing her traffic whistle and helping traffic safely navigate that busy intersection. At some point during her traffic detail, the whistle came up missing. Adelaide was quick to identify a suspect, her mother Eryn.

Adelaide has interrogated mom but has yet to get the confession. We here at Providence PD have offered to issue a new whistle but mom said no.

There is a reward being offered for information leading to conviction in the case of a stolen whistle.

We expect Adelaide to file formal charges tomorrow morning.

These pictures have been shared with permission from Mom. The story of the whistle is true.

Adelaide is another child we see everyday during our school pickup and drop-off detail. She brings a smile to your face and constantly keeps you on your toes.

We wish her many more birthdays!

I have struggled all week trying to find words to help all who knew this young lady.

I simply cannot find the words.

Iris was such blessing to see during our school pickup and drop-off detail. Her smile would fill the room. Her energy was contagious.

Today and everyday that follows, we honor her life.

Praying for comfort and strength for her family and friends.
