We are excited to host our 104th Annual Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow this weekend! All are welcome to stop by and enjoy all of the music, dancing, food, and art that our annual homecoming has to offer.

Powwow will take place from Friday, July 4th - Sunday, July 6th with gates opening at 10:00 AM! To see the powwow program of events and for more information, please visit the powwow page on our tribal website.

Join us this Saturday as we make it a full day of Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of Cape Verde in Pawtucket RI. It all begins 12pm at CACD (120 High St Pawt.) where we will close the street down for Live Music, Great food and Drinks until time for the Game 7pm.

In this week’s edition of 52 in 52, we had the privilege of visiting the Cape Verdean Museum, a hidden gem dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Cape Verdeans—not only here in Rhode Island, but around the world. As the only museum in the United States solely focused on Cape Verdean history and culture, it offers a truly unique experience. We spoke with museum founder Joe DaMoura, who shared insights into the museum’s mission and the stories it honors. Check out some photos from our visit!

En la edición de esta semana de 52 en 52, tuvimos el privilegio de visitar el Museo Caboverdiano, una joya escondida dedicada a preservar y celebrar la rica herencia de los Caboverdianos—no solo aquí en Rhode Island, sino en todo el mundo. Como el único museo en los Estados Unidos enfocado exclusivamente en la historia y cultura Caboverdiana, ofrece una experiencia verdaderamente única.
