Today, on this Memorial Day, we pause with hearts full of gratitude to honor the men and women who gave their lives defending our nation and the values that unite us as a people.
Their courage knew no borders. Their sacrifice is beyond measure. And their memory will live forever in every family that mourned them, in every flag that flies, and in every day of freedom we enjoy today.
To their families: thank you for sharing them with us. You also carried the weight of that love and that loss with admirable strength.
Today we do not celebrate we remember. We remember with respect, with gratitude, and with the firm promise to never forget.
May all those who fell so that we could stand rest in peace.

Hoy, en este Día de los Caídos, nos detenemos con el corazón lleno de gratitud para honrar a los hombres y mujeres que dieron su vida defendiendo nuestra nación y los valores que nos unen como pueblo.
Su valentía no conoció fronteras. Su sacrificio no tiene precio. Y su memoria vivirá para siempre en cada familia que los lloró, en cada bandera que ondea, y en cada día de libertad que hoy disfrutamos.
A sus familias: gracias por compartirlos con nosotros. Ustedes también cargaron el peso de ese amor y esa pérdida con una fortaleza admirable.

Today at the Rhode Island KIDS COUNT breakfast was a powerful reminder that we must continue fighting for our children and families across Rhode Island.

While I always appreciate the important data and conversations shared every year, it is heartbreaking to see that child poverty continues to impact communities like Providence, Central Falls, and Woonsocket, with many families still struggling more each year.

Thank you to everyone who works every day to support our children, especially during these difficult times with cuts affecting SNAP and healthcare programs. Our kids deserve opportunity, stability, and hope for a better future.

Hoy en el desayuno de Rhode Island KIDS COUNT fue un gran recordatorio de que debemos seguir luchando por nuestros niños y familias en Rhode Island.

Siempre agradezco la información y las conversaciones importantes que comparten cada año, pero es muy triste ver que la pobreza infantil sigue afectando comunidades como Providence, Central Falls y Woonsocket. Muchas familias continúan enfrentando tiempos muy difíciles.

Gracias a todas las personas y organizaciones que trabajan cada día por nuestros niños. Nuestros niños merecen oportunidades, estabilidad y esperanza para un mejor futuro.

Today was a very special day supporting small businesses in my district. Sometimes people only see the negative, but there are so many hardworking entrepreneurs who work from sunrise to sunset.

Today I am here supporting a hardworking woman who started with a small coffee cart and, just a month ago, opened her own shop in my district. ☕✨
I am very proud of this young Dominican woman from Santiago Rodríguez a true example of effort, dedication, and perseverance. 🇩🇴💪
Wishing much success to Susy Saint Hilaire and her Saints Cafe! May this be just the beginning of many more achievements. 🙌✨

A special thank you to State Representative Scott Slater and City Councilman James Taylor for their continued leadership and support. Your dedication, time, and commitment make a meaningful difference and reflect the true strength of our community.
