A Message to Our Neighbors from Councilor Sue AnderBois:

Good morning. In light of the tragic event that unfolded yesterday afternoon at Brown University, I am inviting the greater community to gather at Lippitt Memorial Park tonight at 5 p.m. Security measures will be in place to ensure a safe space for all attendees.

What was initially going to be a holiday celebration will now serve as an opportunity for us to come together and support one another as we reflect, mourn, and hold each other close as family, friends, and neighbors.

We will not let this horrific act weaken the bonds that make Providence such a strong and special place to call home. I hope to see you all tonight as we shine a light for the season, for those we have lost, and for those we keep in our prayers.

With love,
Councilor Sue AnderBois

The PTO will be hosting a Poinsettia Fundraiser at Groden Greenhouse on Saturday, December 13. This is a great opportunity to support two local non-profits at once - Nathan Bishop and the Groden Center. The Groden Center empowers individuals with autism, behavioral challenges, and other disabilities to lead productive, independent lives. The Groden Greenhouse is one of several initiatives that allows its community to build self-confidence, learn new skills, and manage work in a retail environment.

The sale is Saturday, December 13 at the Groden Greenhouse - 5 Branch Ave, Providence. The sale runs 9-1. Poinsettias are being sold by suggested donation, with a minimum donation of $6/plant and a suggested donation of $12/plant. Cash, checks, Venmo, and PayPal will all be accepted. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
