The Friends of Rochambeau Branch Library (FORL) is a group of individuals, families, and businesses dedicated to the support of the Rochambeau Branch of the Providence Community Library, its facility, programs, services, resources, and the many people it serves. The Friends of Rochambeau Branch is a 501c3 charitable organization. The Friends fund equipment, events, programs, and services that the
Rochambeau Branch of Providence Community Library could not otherwise cover. The Friends have supported purchases of the books-on-tape collection for children, acquisition of free museum passes (for use by Library patrons), and newspaper and magazine subscriptions of interest to our Library community and help with capital improvements. The Friends sponsor holiday and summer programs for adults and children. Funds to support these activities are raised through membership fees, donations and book sales. We sell gently used donated books at our semi-annual BIG sales and daily through our Book Sale Shelves in the Library. We also conduct an ongoing online sale of special editions and other rare books. As a Friend of Rochambeau, you help support a vibrant community asset — a staff and branch dedicated to our neighborhood. You will receive the newsletter, invitations to special events, and have the opportunity to serve the Branch in numerous special ways. Needless to say, the greatest benefit of being a Friend is knowing that you are actively helping the Library that you use and love! New members may join at any time.
