It’s official: the Protect Water and Nature Ballot Initiative will be Question 6 on the November 2026 statewide ballot in Massachusetts.

Question 6 is simple: it dedicates funds from the existing state sales tax on sporting goods to raise as much as $100 million every year for protecting and conserving water and nature — without raising taxes. It’s time to protect the places we love — clean water, healthy forests, more trails and parks, and access to the outdoors and nature for everyone in Massachusetts. VOTE YES ON 6!

What a night at our 2026 Annual Meeting and “Green” Party! Our community’s passion for the environment was on display celebrating PCT’s accomplishments and honoring our inaugural Conservation Hero Geneviève Martin! Special thanks to Andrew Gottlieb of the APCC for an informative and inspiring presentation, Laura Ludwig for her wonderful stories about Geneviève, Zoe Lewis for dedicating her clever songs to Geneviève, and Dan Wolf for his charismatic intro. And of course to all our volunteers and Trustees who made our event such a success. ❤️

We’re excited to welcome Andrew Gottlieb, Executive Director of the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, as the keynote speaker at the PCT Annual Meeting and Green Party on August 27.

Andrew will share why protecting open space is so important to Cape Cod—and how conservation lands benefit recreation, wildlife, and the drinking water we all depend on.

Our last Summer Shorebird Walk of the season did not disappoint. 63 species of birds were viewed this past Thursday. Special thanks to Carl Edwards and Pat Watson Photography for sharing these wonderful bird photos.

We wish our summer intern and bird walk lead the best of luck in his fall semester at Bowdoin College and look forward to having him back for walks in the future!
